How to add shopify media video

Essential Grid Gallery allows you to display not only images but also videos from your Shopify media library. Follow the steps below to add a Shopify-hosted video to your gallery:


Step 1: Upload Your Video to Shopify Media


  1. Go to your Shopify Admin.
  2. Navigate to Content > Files.
  3. Click Upload files and select your video (MP4 or MOV format).
  4. Once uploaded, click Copy Link to get the video URL.



Step 2: Go to the Essential Grid App


  1. Open the Essential Grid Gallery app from your Shopify dashboard.
  2. Select the Grid Gallery where you want to add the video or create a new one.


Step 3: Add a New Grid Item with Video


  1. In your selected gallery, click Add Item or edit an existing one.
  2. Paste the Shopify-hosted video URL (copied from the Files section) into the video URL field.




  1. (Optional) Add a title and thumbnail image if needed.



  1. Set the source order at the top of the source list.



  1. You can set the video playback settings from settings tab.




Step 4: Save and Preview


  1. Click Save to apply the changes.
  2. Use the gallery preview or visit the front end of your store to confirm the video appears correctly in the grid.
