How to Restore an Essential Grid Gallery Backup

Overview


Essential Grid Gallery uses the Syncora Backup & Restore app to back up and restore your gallery data. This guide walks you through connecting Syncora to Essential Grid Gallery and restoring a previous backup.


Prerequisites


  • Essential Grid Gallery installed on your Shopify store
  • Admin access to your Shopify store
  • Syncora Backup & Restore app installed on your store.


Part 1 — Connect Syncora Backup & Restore


  • In your Shopify admin, go to Apps and open Essential Grid Gallery.
  • In the Essential Grid Gallery dashboard, click Backup.



  • You need to Install Syncora Backup & Restore to get your token.



  • On the Syncora Backup & Restore app listing page, click Install.



  • Review the requested permissions, then click Install again to confirm and complete installation.
  • You'll land in the Syncora Backup & Restore app — this confirms the install succeeded.


Part 2 — Retrieve Your API Token


  • Navigate back to Essential Grid Gallery > Backup.
  • Click Syncora Backup & Restore on the backup page.



  • you will be redirected to syncora's Third-Party Backup page.
  • Click Reveal to display your API token.
  • Then Click Copy to copy the token to your clipboard.




  • Go back to Essential Grid Gallery > Backup and paste the token into the token field.
  • Click Save Settings to save the connection.




Part 4 — Select and Restore a Backup


  • From the list of available backups, check the box next to the backup you want to restore in bulk.
  • Click Selected Backup to backup in bulk.
  • Choose Single Backup to backup the galleries individually.



  • Click View & restore backups to restore the backups.
  • Click Restore.
  • Confirm the action by clicking Restore again.




Your Essential Grid Gallery data is now restored from the selected backup.


Notes


  • Restoring does not overwrite your current Essential Grid Gallery data with the contents of the selected backup it will just create new gallery in draft mode.
  • Backups are typically labeled with the gallery name and a random number at the end, making it easy to identify the right one to restore.
  • The API token only needs to be retrieved and saved once; after that, you can go straight to Part 4 whenever you need to restore a backup.
